SBAY.ORG Social Events

In sbay.org, social events are a fun way for people to meet who would otherwise only be e-mail addresses to each other.
Monthly SBAY Pizza get-togethers
sbay.org has monthly pizza get-togethers on the 3rd Saturday of each month. They start at 7:00PM and often last until 9PM or 10PM.

The discussions are usually semi-advanced to expert in level, among people involved or interested in administration of electronic communications systems including IP, UseNet, e-mail, UUCP, radio or telephony. A monthly recurring subject is the "SBC Blunder of the Month", for which there always seems to be new material to discuss...

Please RSVP to pizzamaster@sbay.org if possible to help us estimate attendance for the restaurant.

SBAY Social mail list
sbay.org has a social mail list which you can subscribe online at http://www.sbay.org/mailman/listinfo/social

Linux Anniversary Picnic
The Linux Picnic is the annual celebration of the anniversary of the release of the Linux Kernel. This tradition started in 2001 with the Linux 10th anniversary celebration. Everyone enjoyed it so much that we decided to make it an annual event.

SBAY Pizza Schedule

SBAY Pizzas begin at 7PM on the 3rd Saturday of each month at the locations shown below. We meet at the same place three months in a row to give people a chance to use the same directions more than once, while rotating around different locations in the valley to give different sites the convenience of having it close to home. We locate them close to freeways to make them convenient for people who don't live in the neighborhood. (Preference on new locations is usually given to people who show up at the pizza meetings, for obvious reasons of maintaining attendance.)

Would you like to host an SBAY Pizza?

We have on occasion allowed companies to do a product demo at an SBAY Pizza if they buy the pizzas for the evening. The prerequisites for such a demo are that the company must contact the SBAY Pizza event coordinators, who will poll the group for interest in the topic. If the group is interested, then the demo will be allowed.

It is also possible for any individual in the group to decide, whether celebrating something or just in a really good mood, to run a tab for the pizzas and pay for them. While the coordinators will prefer to have some advance warning, this can be arranged as late as the last minute.

The SBAY Pizza event coordinators may be contacted at pizzamaster@sbay.org. Send suggestions for future locations or offers to host one month's event.
